Welcome to the Curiosity Movement. We believe Curiosity is a civic virtue. Curiosity is more than a personality trait, it’s a practice and civic behavior. It keeps us humble with what we don’t know, generous with what we learn, and persistent with problems worth solving. Practiced together, it becomes a public good.
Curiosity, imagination and innovation meets manufacturing. This is one way to describe the two companies that Stephanie Budmen has helped to establish in the last decade.
Isaac and Stephanie Budmen delight in the pursuit of answers to impossible questions. What if you could listen to color? Can you taste a star? Could you 3D print a pie? They are inventors and co-founders of two Central New York companies, Budmen Industries and Think Variant.
In the Smithsonian are 3D printed sculptures of Neil Harbisson and Moon Ribas designed, created and produced by Budmen Industries.
What started in our basement in 2020 grew into a global network of 3D Face Shield producers willing to help health care organizations in dire need. We connected thousands of producers directly to the health care workers in their geographic region. Together we donated over 25,000 shields to organizations all across New York State and over 3.5 million face shields globally.
